I worked with Lynda for over a year and a half. I came to her with a very unhealthy relationship with food, the scale and myself. I had a mindset that to succeed in weight loss, I had to severely limit calories and all of the foods I loved. This resulted in feelings of guilt when I ate something I perceived as “bad” and also to days where I would binge nonstop. Getting myself on a healthier path was like peeling an onion. Lynda taught me to eat real foods and avoid “low fat” foods as they are packed with sugar and less satisfying. She told me to use butter and real cheese, just smaller amounts. That advice alone turned everything I thought I knew about healthy eating on its head. Over time, my cravings for sweets diminished and when they did hit, I was able to satisfy them without over-indulging and not feeling guilty for enjoying them. She taught me to measure myself vs weighing myself every week. That advice alone was so freeing. To this day, the only time I step on the scale is once a year at the doctor’s office. I was not the nicest person to myself and Lynda taught me to be kind to myself. Prior to Lynda, I cannot count the number of Sunday night’s I would think, “ok, tomorrow is the day I start my new diet.” I never think that now because I am in control of the food I eat and am enjoying every bite. I have never felt healthier or happier and I have Lynda to thank for that.”
