The food you nourish your body with is the foundation of your health. What you put in will equal what you get out. 

Maybe when thinking about diet (which is simply the food you eat, not a weight loss plan), you may have focused on what not to eat, what’s “bad” for you, rather than focusing on what is nourishing to eat and what you enjoy.

Providing your body with optimal nutrients serves you in so very many ways … energy, disease prevention, weight management, gut health, stress management, improved sleep.

The power of food is truly incredible!

2. Gut Support

 

You may have heard that your gut is really the center of your body. It is where most of your immune system lives, its health impacts the health of your entire body. Maybe that sounds extreme, but it’s absolutely true.  

Even though you may not have symptoms of digestive upset, creating optimal gut health will maximize your health in so many other ways. It’s not just what you eat, but what your gut absorbs and your cells use to create your best health.

You want a gut that is rich with the good guys – the bacteria that fuels your cells and doesn’t deplete them.

3. Focusing On What Matters

 

Maybe you have mostly thought about a healthy body as created by a healthy diet. Well of course, that’s a big part of it. But have you ever thought about all the components of your life and how they may be impacting your overall health?

I like to think about a healthy body as a 4-legged stool. If one of the legs of a stool is broken, what happens? It tips over. What happens to your health when your life is out of balance? The scale tips to a place where you don’t feel your best, your digestion gets upset, you start getting some annoying symptoms, or your risk of chronic disease increases.

The 4 legs of that healthy body “stool” are eating, stress management, movement and sleep. 

Maybe sometimes you put everyone and everything before you, and then the 4 legs of your stool are not solid.  And I will tell you that there really is no substitute for creating that balance. You can eat great all day but if you are exhausted tomorrow because you stayed up too late checking your email or staying up on social media – imbalance will happen and eating, movement and stress won’t be what they could be for you to feel amazing.

Many years ago (can’t believe it’s actually been 30 since this journey began) I struggled with my own health. I woke up every day wondering how I would feel, worried about if my food would make me sick or not. I couldn’t figure out any answers, and no one seemed to be there to help me. I felt alone, embarrassed, and frustrated.

I didn’t immediately find answers. It took some years of stabbing in the dark to discover anything that made a difference for my health. 

I got to a point where I was finally fed up with guessing. I remember it was when I was scheduled to take a business trip (worked in commercial real estate in those days). I was so terrified that I would get sick on the trip, I cancelled it.

At that point I decided enough was enough and I committed to getting answers.

I changed my diet and realized for the first time the true power of food. I changed my life – stress, sleep and movement. And discovered how the right balance can change everything.

And, over the next 20+ years I have had the privilege of helping people just like you to find the answers that help them to feel amazing.
